Meet the User: Alex
Alex Garcia is a bilingual, mid-level finance professional and a recently divorced mother of two. She balances work, childcare, and the complexity of divorce proceedings. Despite her digital fluency, Alex is overwhelmed by the legal jargon, document requirements, and emotional toll.

Research & Discovery
We conducted bilingual interviews with:

A bilingual, AI-supported legal platform for individuals navigating divorce.

Document Center: Upload, track, and manage sensitive documents with status indicators and format support
Step-by-Step Legal Guidance: Clear, bilingual legal workflows tailored to the user’s situation
Emotional Support: Access to wellness resources, parenting tools, and community aid
Financial Tools: Budget simulators, asset division estimators, and financial dashboards
Secure Collaboration: Share selected documents with lawyers or mediators securely

Design Process
Following a user-centered design methodology:
Empathize: Semi-structured bilingual interviews
Define: Personas and journey maps (Alex and Tyler, a lawyer)
Ideate: Lightning sketches, user stories, and wireframes
Prototype: Mid-to-high fidelity clickable prototypes built in Figma
Test: 1:1 bilingual usability tests with six participants
